More info

Post by jerrto »

I was just about ready to purchase this Kjams, but then noticed the warning that it was still just in beta and I would experience some bug problems. I have a MacBook using OS 10.4.11. Need to know some of to down sides of this software before I purchase it. Also, a while back I emailed asking if I can store music and lyrics for CD-G disks that I currently have. With the trial version I am only able to store the first three songs from the disk. If I buy the pro version will I be able to store all the music and lyrics on the disk? Plus when viewing the text for the lyrics the type is somewhat bitmapped is there a way to smooth the text?

Thanks
Tom

Hi, i have the same MacBook. Although Kjams is still in development, it is very stable. I have been running Kjams for over a year and never had a major problem nor have i had a minor problem that could not be fixed by Dave almost immediately. I would say that you would not find a better program for a computer or even a hardware karaoke system. If you do have a problem with the latest release, you can easily go back to the previous version. Kjams is awesome! i would not use anything else. Yes, you can rip all your CDG's to the hard disk once you purchase Kjams Pro. I dont know about smoothing the text, maybe someone else can answer that one. I am sure you will be happy with this program! - Cheers

Brenden: well said, thank you. Jerrto, may i also also direct your attention to the testimonials page for what others have reported?

i must not have gotten your email because i answer every single email personally and quickly. sorry i missed it, probably due to my mail server getting glitchy which seems to happen sometimes. Just write to me again or write to a different address (i list 4 addresses on the Office Hours page).

yes, ripping and storing your songs on your hard drive is rather the point of kJams.
If I buy the pro version will I be able to store all the music and lyrics on the disk
the answer to this is very clearly spelled out on the downloads page, i'm not sure how you could have missed it. but yes, of course there are no limits in the licensed version, that's the point of trialware.
when viewing the text for the lyrics the type is somewhat bitmapped is there a way to smooth the text?
this is due to the bitmap stored on the disc itself. that's how CD+G karaoke is. when you view it on a standard-def TV screen, it looks fine. it's only when you blow it way up on a computer monitor that it looks jaggy.
