Constant Crash!

Post by prettyjake »

I have a mac powerbook g 4. I have installed kjams and loaded about 67,000 songs into the program from an external hard drive. As soon as I open kjams it immediately starts to think, the fan immediately turns on and then it crashes. The screen turns black and it goes into sleep mode. It has been open now for ten minutes and crashed 4 times and it still says that the program is not responding!!!This will not stop! I have plenty of space for this! Help?

this is not something that can be solved in the forums, however I would like a show of hands whether you are getting this issue as well? Anyone else?
I'll be talking with you on the phone this thursday.

Hi Dave,

Don't know if you received my last note (so if this is the 2nd copy, please ignore.)

kJams is crashing since I recently downloaded about 4000 scdg files. I have a mac osx - vs 10.5.6 4 gb

messages i get when opening now are, when opening:

"kJams: no eSellerate Engine only allows you to have up to 3 singers..."

when clicking on a song to play, message:

"Cache folder not found, resetting to default location."

I recently downloaded about 4000 SCDG files
when you say "downloaded" do you REALLY mean downloaded?
Please check your definition and let me know.
kJams: no eSellerate Engine only allows you to have up to 3 singers
all that in one message? or in 2 different messages? Anyway you have a permissions problem with eSellerate.
Cache folder not found, resetting to default location
It means that the volume that you set the cache folder to is no longer available. You at one point had an external drive hooked up, and you set your cache to point to it, but now that drive is not there any more. WARNING: if you set the cache folder to point to somewhere, be advised that kJams will delete EVERYTHING in that folder, without asking, at any time. Therefore it would be a bad idea to set it to point to say your music folder.

NO, mea culpa!

sorry, ..."ripped"... and upon seeing meta data, actually -> I dragged the scdg icon
to "add to folder" icon on kJams

- it worked great at first, but then...I believe we had the "memory" issues come up...
