Oh Master Dave
I used handbrake, following your instruction in the documentation
except, to keep file sizes smaller, I reduced the video to under 500kbps and half the source dimensions (pixels) (so roughly around 360x270 or so)
using the mp4 format (as you do in the documentation), handbrake gives me an m4v file (which I wiki-ed and appears to be the same thing)
playing them in iTunes and VLC, they work fine, but in kjams, it looks like frames are being dropped... I thought maybe it was because the files were on an external harddrive (though it's via FW400), so i moved them onto my internal, but the same thing happens
Is there an option that needs to be unclicked or something?
thanks
pietro
skipping frames
Re: skipping frames
and what kind of machine do you have? CPU type, memory, speed etc. are you going full screen and what size is your screen?
meanwhile, understand that i'm not using the "fast path" for quicktime playback yet, so full screen playback may suffer.
tho it should do 15FPS at 720x480 just fine.

Re: skipping frames
Hey Dave
Full screen or on apple-2 (normal), the same frame-dropping effect happens
how do i tell the frame rate?
The size is smaller than 720x480... it's about half that
hmmm...

Re: skipping frames
send me the video in question via email
also: does it do the same thing in QuickTime player?
