Missing MP4s not consistently handled
Double-clicking to play a "missing" MP4 track in the Library does not bring up a file selector, just a "File not found" dialogue. The track then seemingly creates an empty CDG and a blank PCM, loads the silent bank tracks, and then proceeded to play the blank tracks (black screen, no audio).
Re: Missing MP4s not consistently handled
i'll be looking into this soon, i'm still kinda behind. but it's near the top of my list
Re: Missing MP4s not consistently handled
i do not seem to be having that problem?
I click "Find" and i get the standard file dialog.-

Steps (possibly irrelevant):
1) Search for album (KC) known to have mp4
2) Double-click to play
3) get following: The file is this one, BTW:

Re: Missing MP4s not consistently handled
I can just play them in the finder with quick look.
Re: Missing MP4s not consistently handled
this can ONLY happen if you've secretly set the "* No Video" metadata to "true" on a song, and that song is played with quicktime (as mp4 is), or you set an audio file to go along with that video file (which you should not do). so it's practically impossible to get into this situation. i'd like to see it.
what is the "File: Audio" meta data on that file? also what is the "* No Video" set to? (you have to open the xml associated with the file to see that)

Re: Missing MP4s not consistently handled
Okay, here is the problem with that:
first, kJams doesn't know where the file is, so it has no way of getting any tags. File: audio, File: video, all those data columns are blank. Also, doing a "Reveal in Finder" on a file kJams hasn't touched or put in the cache yet, has no response, confirming that kJams has lost the file. Further, opening the file in a metadata editor shows no set tags. So I don't think this is the issue.

I tried to post example field, but the forum software choked. I'll try your server.
Update:
ftp:/ftp/MP4 weird behavior exemplars/
P.S. What on earth is Isshinryuaikido?

i attempted to repro with your file. i added it to the library, then duplicated it in the finder, giving the new folder a different name. then deleting the original file, and empty the trash. then i tried to play it, and it came up with the "do you want to find it" dialog, just as it should.
i suppose, if this is really crimping your style, we should set up a screen share and let me poke directly at your computer?

Solved!
P.S. What an odd name choice. I got my first black belt ranking in Isshinryu, an Okinawan karate system.

yep! we spent some time doing a screen share and i found and fixed the bug. happens when there is NO reference to the file location left inside kJams at all.
