sorry, i guess i never made it explicit on the actual Producer page what the limitations of the tryout version of Producer are.

this is from the downloads page:

Your songs will have red X's in the lyrics of songs you burn to CD+G

so, to clarify, you can use producer to your heart's content without even paying for it, unless you want to burn a CDG or make a CDG master from something you used Producer to create.

ahh ok ... when i go to use it it asks for the key, .. i have no desire to actually make the cdg... i just want to alter the intro and outro screens and other graphics

what do you mean "go to use it" and what is "it" in "it asks for the key" and what exactly do you mean by "it asks for the key"?

Producer should not be asking for a key. For your first few go arounds, it might be useful to follow along with the tutorials, to make sure you are using it correctly.
