How do I find out what radio buttons do? Trial and error showed me what the two + buttons do at the bottom of the main screen, but the switch button, the button that makes a black window in the source window, and the "eject" button on the right are not obvious to me.
Same thing to the tiny button to the right of the fast-forward button.

oh, you're talking about the user interface "buttons". yes, you can see what they are here.
note that "radio buttons" actually refers to a specific STYLE of button-set where only one is "on" at any given time, like this:
