what are these extra xml files?

Is there something i am doing wrong here? I am running a Mac with Lion. Could it have anything to do with the preferences being set for Quicktime on importing (ripping)?, there is an aiff option there???? In the folder i have all my kJams songs in it has saved each song listed twice, once with aiff and once with a xml extension

does kJams show one or two songs?
if kJams is showing two song entries per song, THEN something is wrong.
in the file system, you're just seeing the meta data file
