Yosemite turns on Firewall?

Post by djunod »

It seems that installing Yosemite automatically turns on the Firewall. You will need to go into System Preferences -> Security & Privacy to fix that.

I quite frequently get [the problem] where the server is not available. It's turned on, and ... the firewall is turned off, but the server does not show up to any Bonjour browser.

strange. i'm not able to repro that. When my server is on, i always see it in all bonjour browsers (on iOS, on another mac, even onAndroid or Windows)

it could be your router? maybe reboot it. i've noticed sometimes bonjour gets confused, sending echoes of old services that aren't there, and failing to reflect ones that are there. rebooting my router generally fixes that.
