What is the better choice? Will USB have lag at all... I don't think you would get lag with firewire! I would love to hear some feedback as to who is using what one and the success or failure with it!!
Thanks
USB or Firewire external hard drive

Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive
Will USB create LAG even for home use?
Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive
no, nothing should create lag, because everything is always pre-cached. any lag is a bug.
Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive
Ok, so I could actually get by with using a USB drive since they do cost quite a bit less.
Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive
yes you can. i can't stand them myself.

Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive
I have been using external drives for almost 6 years in my home system. I will never use a USB again. I've gone through 4 before I decided to go Firewire. It's still kicking and I have seen no problem yet. It's definately worth the money to avoid USB at all cost when it comes to external HD's. In my humble opinion.

If anyone cares, you can often find cheap firewire externals on Buy.Com or eCost. I got my current 320 Gb external FW800 drive for under $50
