Wouldn't it be clearer if the steps were just to save a copy with a different name to the Python path instead of all the file copying?
I.e., ⌥ click on script in Advanced>Python; modify; save as ~/Music/kJams/Python/different file name. Done.

I know nothing about scripting but would be interested to know if this would be possible with the Djay 2 software which I currently use?

write to them and ask them if their software can be scripted with Python.

Maybe is a silly question, but how can I swich off "itunes_auto_crossfade.py" during the show and continue in normal mode?
