Printing Catalogues
Is there a way to print catalogues without the duplicated named tracks without having to select each track individually, for example i have lots of different versions of "My Way" and I only want one in my list. I obviously wont be printing the number for the tracks.

there will be very very soon.
the library will soon show each song only once, with a popup to choose the album from
you will be able to create "album playlists" a new kind of playlist that will do the same thing, if you drop two songs that are the same except for album name, then they'll "merge" and get an album popup
but sorry there's no way right now without manually deleting the dupes
i could easily make a "new preset playlist" that does this however? would that be good?

Thanks for that Dave, I'm happy to wait for the update if it's not to long away, after all I've always done my listing on excel and I procrastinate like hell, so this is an excuse to leave it till your done.
If it does look like it may take more than a couple of months then maybe the preset playlist will be OK, but I don't want you to do unnecessary work when you have the perfect solution planned.

It is well documented that I am thicker than a construction workers sandwich, but I can't work out how to do this.
I want to print a list that contains just the songs and artist once.
i.e.
Say I have Tina Turner's version of "The Best" on seven discs, I want it to appear in the list once. (obviously without the disc numbers)
Reading the above thread I should be able to do this but I just can't see how.
Would some kind soul tell me what I should be clicking?

Highlight the tracks you want
Go to Edit and click Copy
Open numbers/Blank page and place your curser in cell A2
Go to Edit and click Paste and Match Style
Delete the columns you don't want
And Print
You may have to do this in several blocks at a time because of the limitations of Numbers
If you use Excel I think (if my memory serves me well) you paste special

* select your library
* file->new preset playlist->unique songs
this makes a play list with ONE copy of each song in it (no duplicates)
* go to that playlist
* context click (that's a right click, or a control-click if you're stuck in the 80's and don't have a 2 button mouse) on the sort column headers (where you click to sort by name, artist album etc) and un-check the columns you don't want to see
* select all, copy, paste into excel
and yes excel will handle an arbitrarily large library
