search takes a long time

Feel free to post bug reports here. I need exact, detailed steps showing me how I can re-create the bug on my machine, so give as much info and detail as possible.

I've just downloaded the latest version ( 1.0d48r4)of kjams and the when I search for a song in the library it is taking about 40 seconds before I can select a song.

Tiger or Leopard? intel or ppc? what is your MHz?

well, i can make diacritic insensitive searching optional if you want, i believe that is what is slowing things down.

there are in fact several things i can do to make the search go faster
i'll see what i can do tonight. it may not get fixed but i'll have more info.

If I put Leopard on the laptop will the search be any faster. I haven't put Leopard on yet cos there was some issue with burning disc.

yes leopard's search is faster
