Assert Fail...

Feel free to post bug reports here. I need exact, detailed steps showing me how I can re-create the bug on my machine, so give as much info and detail as possible.

Assert Fail...

Post by EVO »

For the last two weeks I have had issues with Assert Fails. I have added screen shots here for reference.

Version - 2.0d95
Running on MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
Proccessor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

I am using Tricerasoft for my Library with a one-day full subscriptions and the versions, DK especially seem to be related to the issue. Once I stopped allowing people to use WTKjams to select from the entire library and limited choices to SBI and Abraxa the issues went away. Not sure if that is coincidence. It is tough to get a lot of details while in the middle of a show, force quitting and rebuilding the lost songs, etc. Hopefully the screenshots help.

Let me know if it is something i am doing wrong. I have a wedding and New Years Party coming up. Would love to have this resolved.

all three screen shots showed the exact same error message, so i removed the first two.

please update to b96, the code has changed since b95 so the error message doesn't point to the right line.

can you do some tests with that? can you try to prove it's related to that song type? does it happen every time with the same song?
what if you turn off "skip silence at end of song" ?

Dave,

Sorry about the redundancy. I showed the multiple shots thinking the activity window might be of some use.

I know this is going to sound dumb but I checked for updates in the software and it says i have the latest version at b95. Is there a place to go manually download b96. Sorry i feel like i should know this...

I am doing karaoke at my wedding/New Years party tomorrow so i will be under less pressure to run a smooth show and definitely pay more attention to the details when issues happen.

As always thanks for the help and quick response.

can you create a list of steps that, when followed, will always reproduce the problem?
start with kJams not running, so the steps will look like this:
1) run kjams
2) set up TriceraSoft for streaming
3) go to the tricerasoft music store
4) sort by "song name"
5) scroll down to the song "???what song?"
6) play that song

--> you will crash
or something. please fill in step 5? and anything else i missed?

Finally got some time to play with this:

1. Start KJams
2. Use a singers History to play a Tricerasoft song
3. Get the Assert Fail error
4. Play the song directly from Tricerasoft and the song plays fine
5. I did it with Much Too Young To Feel This Damn Old - MM02410 and That's My Story MM01130 but it doesn't seem to be related to the song it is when it is taken from history

okay so the new version is out, can you please update to latest, then run kjams, get the error, then go Help->Sent Log file, send that, then come back to this forum and reply that you have sent me the log file (otherwise i won't see the log file)

then i will investigate and report back! thanks again for your patience and sorry for the hassle!
