Feel free to post bug reports here. I need exact, detailed steps showing me how I can re-create the bug on my machine, so give as much info and detail as possible.

Tricerasoft driving me nuts

Post by Karanight »

I put a live Tricerasoft ID number where required in kJams, but I when I'd done it the number of tracks available didn't show in "edit gift pack settings". I thought the problem might be, that Tricerasoft didn't like the same ID number being used on different computers, (I bought the gift package on another computer and I've used it on two computers). I then bought another gift pack and successfully bought a track.
I then got an email that said I had 74 Songs left. When I tried to buy a second track I got the window below
Untitled.png
I've just tried again today and now I'm getting the message that I have no credit
I also updated to the latest version of kJams before trying again

I assume by that you mean a "Gift Pack ID" number?
but ... the number of tracks available didn't show in "edit gift pack settings"
by that i assume you mean that "Gift Pack Credits" shown underneath the button "Edit Gift Pack Settings…" did not update?
if so, it means that your "Gift Pack ID" was not valid for kJams or that it was typed wrong, or the name was typed wrong. Gift Packs used within kJams must have been bought specifically for kJams, you can't just go to the TriceraSoft web site and get *any* gift pack, it must be a "kJams Gift Pack" only.

The error with the "errSSLCertExpired" will likely be fixed soon, this is not your fault or problem, it is a problem on the server side.
now I'm getting the message that I have no credit
check the "Gift Pack Credits" again, in your prefs. what does it say?

It was a Gift Pack ID number
I did mean Gift Pack Credits
The gift pack was bought via kJams and I copied and pasted the iD number.
I bought a track using this ID and when I tried to buy another I got the window with errSSLCertExpired
I'll look at the prefs tomorrow.

in the future:
1) please use .png files and not .tiff files (tiffs do not inline, i've converted them for you)
2) please activate the window (bring it forward) before taking a screen shot of the window. both of your shots show the window deactivated, so it's impossible to see which controls are enabled

please click "edit gift pack settings" and take a screen shot of that.

Okay, well, your screen shot looks correct. I got your email with your GiftPackID, and I tried it here, and it worked just fine!
When i enter the info in the Gift Pack dialog, immediately the credits shows updated, "Gift Pack Credits: 74".

Do you have a firewall? try turning it off. if you still have trouble, please call me during office hours and i'll poke at it myself.
