Feel free to post bug reports here. I need exact, detailed steps showing me how I can re-create the bug on my machine, so give as much info and detail as possible.

Windows Tryout 1.0a01r11

Post by way2fst4u »

I am trying to add tracks to the library on a friend's windows machine. I keep getting the following error:

"there was an error opening the file."

She is trying to use the tryout to practice her songs. I lent her copies of the songs she sings. I am unable to add ANY tracks.

Thank you.

Scott
Thanks!

please list the steps you're taking, or edit the below to match EXACTLY what you're doing:

have a folder on the internal hard drive that has ONE song inside (a zip file, or an audio+cdg file pair, the file pair must have the EXACT same name)
run kjams
go file->add to library
navigate to that folder
pick it
when kJams asks, pick "move" (or pick "reference") <-- which one do you do?
kjams adds the song to the library an all is well.

please edit the above steps to match what YOU are doing. cuz the above works fine for me, so you MUST be doing something different.

Mind you, I have pro on 2 Macs with no issues anymore :)

I have a folder on the drive with ALL her Karaoke zips in it. I go to file->add to library
I navigate to that folder
I pick ONE of the tracks, and get that error.
Thanks!

first: try the rogue. in general, always try the rogue before reporting a problem because it may be fixed.

if the rogue does not fix it, then quit kjams, then run again, re-cause the error, then go help->send log file. be sure you CHANGE the subject line so it does not have the words "crash report" in the subject, otherwise i will not see it.

i did not get a log file from you. did you change the subject line?

do it again, and in the new email, change the subject line
and in the email say "this is way2fast4u from the forums"
