Problem: "Push Meta Que" keeps throwing errors at startup

Every time I launch kJams, I have about 30-40 items stuck in the "Meta Que" that appear to be processing. The list of songs is not consistant. However, something is failing on them, because it tries each one for about 5 seconds, followed by the error message:

There is some other process that is busy with the zip file for the song "XXX", please try again.

(P.S. I think "Que" should be spelt "Queue" )

do you have "use stuffit expander as a last resort" turned on? are these files open by another program? are the files locked? are they possibly on a drive that is corrupted and needs a repair?

we may need to get on the fone to solve this.

It was turned off. I will turn it on and try again.

I don't think so... I've rebooted and kJams is the only thing running.

Not that I am aware of... They are on my laptop's boot drive and has been working fine for everything else so far. I will run Disk Repair now to check.

Sorry it's been a while in replying! I've tried repair disk and permissions (the disk repair found no problems but there were a few permissions problems as per usual)... Also I've updated to the latest version, but the problem is still there. Since it throws the error during "Saving database", maybe it's a permissions issue with that file? Could you tell me which file it is and I can have a look?

My rMBP is arriving on Thursday... Hooray! But then I'm on holiday for a week... But I'll move all my files onto it very soon and see if I still have the issue. If I do, I'll let you know and perhaps then we can sort out a Skype time?

rMBP has arrived and Migration Assistant has done it stuff, so now I have kJams on my shiny new machine!

The good news is, the "Push Meta Que" errors seem to have stopped. Yay!

The bad news is, whenever I play a karaoke track and the video goes full-screen, it gets halfway through the intro screen and freezes! the music keeps playing, but kJams freezes up completely (I cannot stop the music or escape from full-screen mode). Do you know anything about this bug, or what might be causing it? Should I check for an update manually? (Sorry I haven't done this already, just thought of it and am currently at work)

Sorry it's been a while getting back to you, been away on holiday!

I just updated to the latest version (1.0a01r03). Unfortunately, I cannot find a way of stopping the video playback from going full-screen... Even if I set the Video to "Normal Size", when I play a song it automatically goes full-screen and then crashes.

Also unfortunately, it appears that since the first time when I launched the app, the "Push Meta Que" warning messages have started up again

I just tried using the keyboard shortcut to make the video play at Normal Size before it crashes, but unfortunately it still crashes at the same point (halfway through the initial title screen)...

and by the way, the auto full screen is a pref. please explore the kJams prefs 'till you're familiar with them.

Okay thanks Dave, I'm at work right now but will do it as soon as I get home.

I will turn off the "auto full-screen" option, see if it makes a difference... However it does crash even if I pull it out of full screen in time. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the computer switching between integrated and discrete graphics? Anyway I won't speculate... Will send you the crash log as soon as possible!
