kJams crashes every time i import an avi file to the library

I have a couple old DK divx discs, they're all avi files, i downloaded Perian and quicktime is now able to play the files however everytime i try to import them into the library kjams crashes =(

works fine for me, did you install Perian?

yes. i installed perian. the avi file plays in quicktime now, it didn't play in quicktime before but once i installed perian it played no problem. before i installed perian i imported the avi files into kjams no problem they just wouldn't play so i removed them from the library. but now when i try to import them and play them in kjams it just crashes
