Black TV Screens at start of show

When I start kJams the monitor screens (TV"s) go from showing the Apple background to black. The only way to get the screens back on is to play a karaoke track then stop it, once I've done that everything OK.

What happens in practice is I turn on the computer,

NB (I have kJams set to Open at login)

I then go and turn the TV's on, (the TV's are used during the week for watching boring stuff like sport whilst I'm not there so I need to retune them to receive the computer signal)

If the computer's gets booted up before I turn all the TV's on I'm never sure what channel I need, so I find myself flicking through the channels to find the correct one, at this point I normally have to go back to the computer and wait till the task's have finished and then play a track and stop it to get the computer signal onto the TV's, then I can find the correct channel on the TV's

i'm not sure i fully understand the problem but it doesn't sound like a kJams bug. do you think this is a kJams bug?

I think so. If I close kJams the screens are OK. When I re-open kJams the screens go black before kJams has fully opened and will not come back on until a track is played, (the track only needs to be played for a second or two) I've not noticed this with other programs I open

Oddly enough, I don't think there's an actual problem here, precisely. This happens to me all the time - it's just the Video window going to fullscreen automatically on kJams startup.

It generally works that way for me, as long as:
a) I didn't close the Video window (or detach the second monitor) before quitting kJams, and
b) the second monitor is attached and working before I start kJams.

The next time it happens, you might try pressing [⌘+1], or invoke a ShowScreen, to test this out .

perhaps what you're expecting is the behavior you get when you check the pref: "Hide video window when paused", turn that on and see if you get what you've been expecting.
