discs

Is kJams missing a feature you need? Post it here! Note: if iTunes has it but kJams doesn't, it's a good bet kJams will have it, but that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But go ahead and request it anyway!

Can this software be used to create mixed discs from my collection of CDG and Super CDG dics?

create mixes

You can rip / mix / burn from CDG discs only. "SuperCDG" is a proprietary format and they have refused to license it out.

However, you can buy this *Windows Only* program:
CAVS Decoder CDG

This can convert CAVS files to CDG files, which kJams can then burn to mix discs.

There is a program for converting the super cdg disks down to mp3 + G however, you'll have to do it on a PC.

The app is available at KJamp.com

I'm not affiliated with them other than being a user, I just thought others would like to know that the capability is now there.. I believe it's even a freeware item. (editor's note: free for the first 50 tracks you convert)

I'm so psyched to be on Kjams officially now...

still in the learning stages, but can't wait to try it it live.

That's great, KJamp looks like a pretty decent program!

I think the CAVS converter will also work with SuperCDG discs, tho I'd like confirmation on that.

Nope: The songs on SuperCDG discs are packed away by the dozens into a few .CAB files. You have to unarchive them into ordinary .MCG and .MP3 files using other CAVS utilities first, then use CAVS Decoder CDG to convert the MCGs and MP3s into other file formats.

it's even better:

kJams now directly supports SuperCDG discs. Stick it in and it "just works" like a regular CD, except it always comes with meta data, and there may be thousands of songs on them. YAY!

clicky for goodness

Wow! this is awesome news! I am thinking about upgrading to Leopard. Will this affect any songs i downloaded, ripped or added to my library in any way?
Thank you
