Easy one.
Would import a folder, specifying the XML, and all assets needed for the ShowScreen, including jpegs and fonts.
On import, the assets would be moved to the appropriate destinations, including the default pix folder.
An accompanying export function would also be helpful, that would automatically make this folder from existing ShowScreens.
This would not only make moving from one system to another and one venue to another on different computers much easier, but also might allow for some people to make a mini graphics service business.

Re: Import ShowScreen function
I'm actually about to make picture showscreens easier to deal with in a different way: just a folder of pictures, per venue. no need to store them in prefs. so they're already "exported", always. you can just drag and drop.
for technical showscreens (composed of pictures and text) it'll be the same, they live in that folder, in the venue folder

Re: Import ShowScreen function
You would still have to manually copy that pics folder over, of course, as well as any needed fonts, etc.
Allowing a dedicated import and export (mostly through transparent file copies to the appropriate locations) would help moving showscreesn to a new venue or a new machine.

Re: Import ShowScreen function
yeah, font gathering / installation will never happen, sorry, that's out of scope.
export function would copy to a folder on your desktop, so you could drag it somewhere else. would be the same as going into the folder and dragging it. or maybe a "reveal" function so you'd know what to drag?
fyi it's a fine idea but the "existing workaround" is relatively straight forward, so it falls below lots of other requests.

Re: Import ShowScreen function
The issue would be that different sets for different venues would live in different (or have to live in multiple) locations, requiring more than one item to be found and copied, and copied to different locations.
XMLs and pics for different venues would have to be found and copied to different locations on designation machine.

Re: Import ShowScreen function
the idea is that all the assets for a showscreen be in one folder, and that one folder be in the venue folder. so you go to one place: the venue folder

Re: Import ShowScreen function
Do you mean the top level Venue folder, or inside the folder for a specific venue? The latter implies there would have to be multiple copies of most Showscreens.
Re: Import ShowScreen function
one at the top level for all venues, and then one in each venue folder specific to that venue
