Quicktime Export with Artist Name and Song Name

Is kJams missing a feature you need? Post it here! Note: if iTunes has it but kJams doesn't, it's a good bet kJams will have it, but that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But go ahead and request it anyway!

Quicktime Export with Artist Name and Song Name

Post by waynenoel »

I would really like the ability to export the Artist AND Song name with a QT Export.

Is this possible, or can it be made possible Dave?

there's no preference panel for it, but you CAN tweak the prefs file yourself to add a "conform name" for QT export.

Currently it is set to "S", meaning Song name. But say you wanted it to be "Track# Song - aRtist", you'd enter "T S - R".

See the section on Secret Prefs.

That sounds doable, but where is the code that shows "S", that I'd change?

I opened the kJams Preferences.xml file but didn't see that part...?

-is it the part that says, "<key>Conform song name template</key>
<string>T S</string>" ??

I don't see that in the document that Secret Pref refers to

If I'm reading the Secret Pref section correctly, it says to open the following document:

~/Library/Preferences/kJams/kJams Preferences.xml

... and to edit the section under:
QuickTime Export name template

...but I don't see that section in the "kJams Preferences.xml file.

Am I opening the wrong file to see, "QuickTime Export name template"??

RE: What version running

Post by waynenoel »

I don't know if you got my email, but I updated to the latest and none of the songs would play, the error message said, "Unix Error: "Bad file descriptor" Reading CD Table of Contents"

I tried a previous version of KJams (1.0d45r33) and it plays the files fine...??

So I have both on my computer right now in different locations.

well the quicktime conform name feature is not in the older version, it's only in the last couple builds.

i've fixed some errors since you sent that email, there will be a new build posted by tomorrow night to address the "unix error".

OK, thanx. I'll wait until the new build works and then I'll try the preference file.
