Push meta que info

Post by joachimschmidt »

"Push meta que"
is the activity info in the microphone field regardless if it is pushing file names or meta tags.
The command work with different speed so i guess it is a difference.

(But i can't understand what is happening. Pull meta, changes file names. Changing tags, non saved, and then restore by pull meta, saves the new tag ... i get back after next update.)

i'm not sure what the question is. pushing "meta" is slower than just pushing "file names". does that help?

My issue is, the same info shows regardless if i push meta or filenames.

When i try to clean up thousands of files (name and meta) it is helpful to know what kJams is doing.

Ie, the frade "pushing filenames" never shows"

Oh. I see. yeah, sorry.

the Queue holds a mixed bag of whatever needs to be pushed, whether it is just meta (the xml or xattr sidecar file), or file names (includes meta), or tags (includes filenames and meta). any given "push" activity may contain all 3, so it's not like one activity is of only one type.

Ok! End of thread then.

PS. Off topic:
My "problem" should eventually be a future feature or support request.
It is when i want to change name of many files. I can't batch change (search&replace text in names) or batch- alter tags. My way is to do that with Automator in Finder.
But when adding them in kJams, the (old obsolete) meta gets pulled and pushed back to the filenames.

Now i add, quick close kJams before the pull, restart and reinterpret filenames, then push meta tags.
Works. :-)

You can select a bunch of songs, hit copy, and then go to a spreadsheet and paste. There you can search and replace whatever you want, then select the same cells that you had originally, and copy them from the spreadsheet, go back to kJams and hit paste. More info here:
