Cache location

Post by joachimschmidt »

I don't know, but it feels a bit odd, "Not 64-ish" for an app to put cache files in /Library/Caches/kJams rather than ~/Library/Caches.
Licens, maybe.
But Songs, logs, crashfiles .... really?

Also, related.
When choosing "Reveal in Finder".
It would be more relevant, i guess, to see the original file, not the cached file that many ppl even wont understand exist and where. i suppose.

yeah i put the cache in the global location so you can reboot into a different user and still get the cached files, but you're right, shouldn't be doing that. noted. pretty sure logs go into user area not global?

"reveal in finder" reveals EVERYTHING related to a song, yes including cache files. but you should also see the original file, zip files, meta data files (xattr, xml), audio, video etc. you should never see ONLY the cached files unless something has gone horribly wrong.
