Hard to Find Tracks....

Post by TezinOz »

Hi All,

I spent considerable time on the net and everywhere else trying to find the following 2 tracks.

If anyone has seen them, I'd love to know where!

1. Hitchcock Railway - Joe Cocker
2. Holy Mother - Eric Clapton

Cheers,

Tez

You can get the instrumental version from Karaoke-version.

Does anyone know where I can buy:

'Just An Old Fashioned Girl' by Eartha Kitt ?

sometimes called

'Old Fashioned Millionaire' by Eartha Kitt ?

I’d really love to find a CD+G of this, or an MP4 I guess, but my old 2007 Karaoke iMac struggles a little with the video versions.

We have an elderly regular whose been a spectator at most of our previous events and plucked up the courage to get up & sing for the first time last New Year’s Eve. She requested this song but I didn’t have it. I'd love to find it for her ready for our next event in March 2017. 8)

Thanks,
Mark.

PS. Her (2nd choice) rendition of ‘My Boy Lollipop” was great! :D

There is a backing track version of "Just an Old Fashioned Girl" by Eartha Kitt from Ameritz available from either iTunes or Amazon, but it is the more cheesy version that sounds like it was made on a harpsichord.

Thanks, I found that on iTunes, it is pretty awful but may be my only hope. Would it be useable in my first ever Producer attempt?

I did consider buying the original song and using LogicPro or GarageBand to filter out the vocals as best I can, but given the song is so old it'll probably be mono anyway which would make that more difficult.

I make have to accept that not every song ever sung has a karaoke version :)

Thanks again,

Mark.

Yes, it would work fine in Producer.
I tried with various digital version of the track to strip vocals using Audacity, with no luck, and from the waveform it seems pretty clear the track is in mono.
But in the instrumental track's defense, it turns out there is a version by Eartha Kitt that sounds just as cheesy.

I had a request ahead of my next show..

"(Looking For) The Heart of Saturday Night" by Tom Waits?

Anyone know if a karaoke version is available to buy? I searched all my usual places and haven't come across it. Sunfly & SBI have some Tom Waits, just not this track, which was voted the 2nd best Tom Waits song by PopMatters & in the Top Ten by The Daily Telegraph.

Thanks :)

After much searching, there is a backing track available if you wanted to make it yourself. It is Karaoke Planet vol 48.
You can get it from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/m ... 6kgx74b62f
It is also available on iTunes, but it is far more expensive from there for some reason.

FYI, for those people who are on Windows, there are a number of cheap, or even free to use CDG creation apps.
