Column headings - Composer & Writer

Just talk about kJams stuff with each other, describe things you did that worked, talk about your setup, anything that doesn't fit into the other forums!

Column headings - Composer & Writer

Post by HowardBrazee »

There are a bunch of column headings such as composer & writer that are unpopulated in my library. I don't see any way to populate those fields. Are they used?

they are used if you put information into them. you can edit directly in the browser window.

make sure "kjams->prefs->tags->allow tag editing in browser" is turned on

Ahh, this time it worked now that I know it should. For some reason I have a hard time pressing my mouse in such a way to edit fields that way. I have that trouble with Finder as well. I also sometimes can't right click a song, but somehow get the heading menu. I need better coordination.

Thanks.

I finally got around to trying to add composers. I have "Allow tag editing in Browser" checked and delay time is set to 0.75 seconds. But I can't get fields to edit (well, I can check the duet check box). Do I need to look at a Mac setting as well? I select a song in Library, hold my mouse over a field with the button pressed, and nothing happens.

the procedure is click-wait-click, not click-and-hold.

1: select the row (the song)
2: move the mouse over the field you want to edit (over the dash)
3: click once and DON'T MOVE THE MOUSE
4: wait a full second

It should then go into edit mode

I'll keep trying. It happens other places as well, as when I try to rename a playlist. Thanks.

it will always work if you understand how to invoke it.

there's a second easier way to rename things on the left (in the "Source" panel), select it and press the return key

Thanks. (I didn't try hitting the Return key)
