cd-g

Just talk about kJams stuff with each other, describe things you did that worked, talk about your setup, anything that doesn't fit into the other forums!

are you ripping a shiny silver disc?

or did you buy digital downloads?
if the latter, where did you get them?

did you know kJams has built-in music stores?

shiny silver discs.

I use the built-in music stores frequently. In this case, we purchased these at a store. My machine imports the disc however the video portion is blank.

so, is this Shiny Silver Disc™ a CD+G disc? does it say "CD+G" on it?

You are correct, I am using KJams.
Another thought.....I guess its possible that the cd reader is faulty... I am going to try to copy them to a flash drive and insert that way.

I just downloaded Kjams onto a pc....inserted the cds and all of them work correctly. Thus I am assuming my cd-g that is external and hooked up to the mac mini is the problem. Is it possible to install all the cd's into the library of the pc...then copy them to a flash drive to get them on the mac mini? is there a certain protocol that you recommend?...ie file/export/entire playlist/allfiles?

wait a second
you're saying that you run kjams on your mac
stick a CD+G disc into a drive
it shows up in kjams, and you are NOT running iTunes
you use kJams to rip the songs (NOT the finder drag and drop, NOT iTunes)
kjams does not complain about problems, but when you go to play a song, you get only audio and no video?
really? that should not even be possible.
if this IS happening, then you are correct, your CD drive is bad, in fact it's so bad, it is LYING to the operating system, telling it that it is capable of ripping CD+G discs, then PRETENDING it can rip them without error, yet giving back zeroes for the supposed video (+G) that it is allegedly ripping.

yes, you can rip on windows then transfer to mac, and yes export just as you guessed.
but before you export, go to prefs->exporting, and set your export name template to "L-T - R - S" (no quotes)
then when you do "add to library" pick "copy" and it will all snick into place

I understand and value your thoughts....you have always been excellent to work with, I am only reporting the news, not creating it.

That is my take also.
