I have A G5 Tower, a Mac Pro Tower, A 20" Intel iMac, a 17" Intel iMac and a G5 iMac and every time KJams tells me, in every case, that my drive is not compatible with the sunfly disk I'm trying to play. I'm at a loss.

This is the drive in the MacPro tower and still no good. Still reports wrong drive. Is it me or am I doing something wrong? I'm willing to buy this software so long as I can make it work.

No, this is a hardware issue. Either the drive is physically capable of read/writing CD+G or it's not, the software drivers cannot compensate. If the spec sheet does not state "CD+G" then you're out of luck. 
It does not strike me as odd at all that all your drives don't work. It's unfortunately rather a rare case in which a drive will support the format. Most users, i'd say the vast majority, must buy an external drive. (I recommend a Plextor 760A and a USB2 or FireWire adapter)

I'm quite confident that all older Plextor models *can* read and write CD+G format, so yes i recommend going that route.
And it's perfectly reasonable to use an "internal" drive as an external drive, with the appropriate $12 adapter.
