Eliminating Feedback

I have my laptop hooked up to a cheap 4channel Radio Shack mixer, running the audio output into my home stereo receiver. I'm using two cheap Walmart microphones. I get a lot of feedback from my speakers in the form of a high pitched squeal if the singers go in front of the speakers. I can play with ...

Re: karaokeanywhere

Not sure I see your vision here Dave with Karaokeanywhere. I was envisioning the user could use iJams to select the track and see a preview of the lyrics playing all in the same window. Maybe slightly easier.. With iJams you could display the song artist/title along with the first couple of verses o...

Re: karaokeanywhere

Awesome software...

Makes me wonder if Dave couldn't roll some sort of preview into his current iPhone app? I'm sure you have nothing left on your feature todo list. ;-)

Include store downloads in search results?

I'm sorry if this was tackled before; is there a setting that would allow for the store selections to be included in the search results? That way if a track wasn't available locally, it could easily be purchased through kJams without having to do separate search for each store?

Re: Playing "filler" music between singers - how to?

I've been using this modified version of the crossfade script at the parties that I throw.. http://www.runfatboy.net/blog/2008/10/27/karaoke-kjams-and-auto-crossfading-with-itunes/ Works like a dream. Whenever the karaoke window is full screen, the karaoke volume is turned up to 100% and iTunes is f...

Re: Subscription Services

There's also SelectATrack http://www.selectatrack.com/index.aspx . While they don't offer a subscription service, they do post their top 100 sellers so you could check back there every once in a while to see what is popular ( http://www.selectatrack.com/topsellers.aspx ). Also, they allow you to dow...

Re: Microphones

Just buy a mixer board. You don't need anything fancy; I bought this cheap one from RadioShack and it works just fine.

Re: :)

Just curious Dave, from my experience using the computer as a mixer results in the mic input being slightly delayed (the reason why I use a dedicated mixer). I speak into the mic and the audio seems like it is output about a half second later. Not the case with my little Radioshack mixer. So using G...

I'm not a karaoke DJ, but have thrown my own fair share of karaoke parties in college and with friends. We've done a Goodwill party where the outfit you wear has to cost ten dollars or less from any thrift store. Must bring receipt(s) to prove it! We gave out prizes. You will get some hilarious outf...

along with this feature comes also the "iTunes" integration, you'll see all your iTunes songs inside kJams.

Very excited for this feature. Constant music at the parties!
