Re: Global volume adjustment
Many thanks, I'll give this a bash (pardon the pun). Having over 6000 tracks now I hope I don't overwhelm my Mac :) Could you tell me the MP3 Command line you decided to be the best for you? Thanks, Mark. (Currently 2000 miles away from my system :D) Automator is fairly easy and straight forward, ju...

Re: Global volume adjustment
Hi my tracks are .zip files containing the .mp3 & .cdg file. This is the way kJams2 imports them for me. I'm not home at the moment to check if there's an alternative methods in kJams2 preferences. I'll have a look at Automator or Hazel actions to process them, it doesn't look like it'll be overly s...

Re: Global volume adjustment
Sorry to wake up a VERY old thread, but this is exactly what I need to do. I have certain tracks that are stupidly loud and others too quiet. Can someone tell me how we go about applying MP3Gain (or another utility) to normalise the output level of our zipped tracks stored in kJams? I'm hoping there...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
Try Sunfly's version of "Maniac" by Michael Sembello. I'm pretty sure the lyrics were transcribed by twelve argumentative deaf Armenians who don't speak English listening to the track from a transistor radio sitting in a toilet in a bathroom behind a locked door across a busy twelve leave highway W...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
If you were industrious, you could always cross match the tracks, use SBI lyrics with the audio file from the Zoom track. Then rezip and time-slip the audio as needed within kJams. For the most part I wouldn't go to that effort, but there is the odd song that drives me NUTS. One immediately springs...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
Yep, I like zoom too, as I said previously I'm rather partial to SBI/ABraxas as I like the way the words come up in plenty of time, but recently I've been comparing the "performance" in the track and I've steared away from SBI. "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie is an example that springs to mind, the Zoo...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
Well that sucks.
I think I'd better use up my credits before we see that same action in the UK. I last used my credits yesterday & they worked fine in the UK.

Equipment Advice - Mixer with Single Knob Compression?
Having suffered a couple of screamers at my first ever show I've been told that a compressor would be the solution. I'm currently borrowing a mixer and I'm shopping around for one myself. With some many knobs & faders to go wrong new appeals to me. The Behringer Xenix X2222USB has caught my eye as i...

Equipment Advice - Active or Passive Speakers?
I just did a mammoth post on how my first show went, but I need to buy some equipment of my own for future shows. The first question for me is:- "Active or Passive Speakers?" & "How Big?" I'm holding events in a club, one room is 50ft x 26ft and approx 12,500 cubic ft (a tall pitched roof). The othe...

So I did my first show..
I did my first Karaoke evening in our local club on Saturday night. I'm doing the shows for free as a little bit of community spirit. Our village has no bars/pubs and just 1 village club that can not even afford to open every day, or to pay for any bar staff (we're all volunteers). My hope is to rev...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
That's a shame, I've gone to great effort (& expense) to make sure I have all my track legitimately. I'm not interested in buying/acquiring illegally. You have to register with Sound Choice. They are working on a download program. It should be coming very soon. Once registered you'll be able to dow...

Re: Custom Server Pages
Okay how about this: i'll add a banner at the top, that is a graphic served from the venue folder. a user can drop "banner.xyz" into a venue folder and that will be served instead of the default. (xyz is whatever graphic format, jpg, png, gif, maybe .mov would work too) Did you ever do this Dave? I...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
Can someone tell me where I can buy individual Sound Choice song downloads online ? I do agree that they are pretty consistently the best, but not easy to find. I did find some Karaoke Cloud songs online yesterday and was able to fill in quite a few gaps on my collection that I'd not been able to fi...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
I didn't know this, that's great news. I saw a "Buy" and a "Stream" button but no "Preview".dave wrote:did you know that you can preview tracks from within kJams?
