Re: kJams server "Events" list

For the record, if it were a playlist, it would need to use a new type of "singer" field, since part of the point is to manage duets, by adding things like "Mary K. and Jim S." as the singer for the song, even though the song is ACTUALLY only added to Mary's tonight list. This lets one manage duets ...

Re: kJams server "Events" list

I'd still like a scrollable list (even a playlist) but Growl is certainly a start! ;)

Apparently I am alone in server use? Where is everybody?!?

kJams server "Events" list

I have already discussed this with our Dave, but figured it might be helpful to hear what others have to say. In an effort to eliminate paper slips to the greatest extent possible, I am going full bore on server. One helpful feature I have proposed is an "Events" window, where every song request, lo...

Re: Colour singers

That works, and I considered it. In fact, I think that was my original suggestion way back when. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it added extra width to the browser window, and thus made multi-tasking a bit more difficult, necessitating keeping the kJams window wider, or ho...

Re: Colour singers

Just to be clear, the idea was, right click, and one item in the context menu would just be "Time to next song"

Re: Colour singers

Actually, UI-wise, I guess it really doesn't need to be a dialogue. If it is triggered by a context menu, it might as well just BE the context menu!

Re: Colour singers

I have always been of the mind that the KJ Rotation should advance to the next song in the tonight list as it goes through singers, but certain people with more authority than I think differently. Anyway, I habitually check by using the disclosure triangle to see how many songs singers have in the n...

Re: Updated Server files with autologout and last name support

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. All that code has been extensively tested by professional beta testers and has been shown to work fine with kJams server. ;)
(I.e. I hammered at it for hours and it worked fine for me.)

Re: Updated Server files with autologout and last name support

No pushy pushy, me givee givee (free code)

Pushy pushy is me asking for people to ask for a dialogue box after every song prompting them to either add another or log out! ;)

Well, that and video overlay!

Re: Possible to Record?

No no, I am talking about Garage Band.
Using that just to record seems, um, a bit much?

Updated Server files with autologout and last name support

Hey Dave, I said, kJams server really needs an auto log out capability, since people who use the laptops I set up to select songs usually just walk away without logging out. Then the next person comes along, and they search for songs using the previous person's log in, and so on, so one singer ends ...

Re: search bar

There is that too. What I was getting at is I work at a venue where many people may want to sing contemporary rock, but a few might want to sing Snopp Dogg, a few might want SInatra, and one guy insists on singing sex pistols, the buzzcocks, and violent femmes. WIth only 7.5k tracks, I would be tell...

Re: Possible to Record?

Well, except that the software already does exactly what is needed, has never crashed on me, and I can't think of any reason that an update would be needed. Besides which, it's not like Apple is gonna listen to feature requests!!!

Re: search bar

It's bragging rights, pure and simple. Um no, it's not. That is very presumptuous of you. For most, I would suspect it is so that we can let people sing what THEY want to sing, not what we ALLOW them to sing. As host, you are working for them, not the other way around. The idea that you can get a f...
