Re: Video on Screen

Well, I've tried really hard to get the Logitech C200 webcam to work. The good: It's UVC compliant, works fine in iChat and Skype with no additional drivers or utilities. The bad: when it's plugged in, I just get a black screen behind the video screens - oh, and even weirder, when I click on the men...

Possible bug - cannot quit. CONFIRMED!

upgraded to new version, now I can't close the app. Tried Command Q, File menu option, and context menu on dock alias. Looks like it's going to be a Force Quit. However, I think I was able to close it successfully a time or two after upgrade, so I don't think it's an absolute problem with the new ve...

Re: Video on Screen

heh - I wasn't even asking you, Dave. I prefer my salmon baked anyway. I was asking Len if he figured out a way to use a separate camera with the current builds. Apparently it worked at least once, and apparently with a FW cam, not a USB one. So, I have no idea where I'm at. Honestly, I was figuring...

Re:

I've just connected my video camera to the laptop and when I clicked "take photo" the picture source was the video camera not the built in isight DId you ever figure out a reliable way to choose your camera? I have a webcam that uses the macam drivers that I want to try out. Using the iSight built ...

Re: Freeze on scan

No worries about low priority - it would never come up as a problem during a live show, just when I'm previewing and sorting music at home. (rapidly scanning through stuff, etc) I've mostly trained myself to avoid scrubbing to the end - but I still lock myself up once in a while, for good punishment...

Re: Freeze on scan

d50r32 Sept 27 2009 Lite Pro * i think this also fixed the "drag the playhead before the song is completely unpacked" bug * fixed a hang if you scrub the timeline to the very end Apparently not. Downloaded new version, tested for bug. Locked up just the same. Trying to attach pictures. Picture 2.pn...

Re: SONG BOOK

It's really easy if you're copy/pasting. You just need to select and re-order the columns in the playlist view you are copying from. I assume that means the Library view. So, go to Library, then right click (control click) on one of the column headers, for instance SongID. A little menu will come up...

Re: What equipment do you use?

A compressor is nice too - minimizes squeals and hums. I use an Alesis compressor, but it's not at all necessary. I knew I posted that - must have missed it. I heart my compressor, but have survived without it as well. I think I paid about $125 for it on eBay about 7 years ago. I paid $79.99 + $9.9...

Re: Adjustable end of somg

Yeah, that's roughly how I handle it now - except I don't think I have to manually get rid of the rotation screen (which in such circumstances, I normally don't use - I just use a splash screen instead, with a Who's SInging Next pasted on to it (with just the next singer, not the whole list)) - The ...

Re: Adjustable end of somg

It's a good start - but it doesn't solve the aborts - I obviously don't want to SAVE the song wherever they left it at. Not sure about Jim, but he may also want to have the option of playing through a long outro - like if he's busy and not quite ready for the next singer, or if he's going to make so...

Re: Adjustable end of somg

We've already almost got this - with Save Trim End Time - but, you probably have to do it in advance, because you have to pause the song, then select the option from the menus - which isn't horribly practical live. I have no idea what this would do to tonight/history lists. I don't think you're the ...

Screen Message Template carriage return

Is there a way to put a carriage return (or line feed, or whatever combination it should be) into the text given to the Screen Message template? Obviously, when making normal templates, you can easily do this by simply putting the text on to separate lines, and the CR/LF is picked up by whatever par...

Re: Printing... to CSV

I'd certainly kick down a little cash for your Access files. I know I can get the data to Access, but I'm not so clear on how to create the report and print to PDF - I assume this takes at least Acrobat Standard, which I can get onto my Windows machine that has Access on it. Having your Access proje...

Re: Setting up show

That's exactly how my shows run, but I don't use kJams to run the regular music. Over time, I've used a combination of iTunes, my iPod plugged in to the board, and other software (djay) to run the live music. There's wiki and board info about a crossfading script that should work with iTunes. I've n...

Re: Ijams request system not working properly..

How are you broadcasting your internet? I've noticed after setting up an ad-hoc wireless network on my mac, then trying to connect a kiosk machine to it, it takes *forever* to actually connect fully and get an IP - if your phone is going through the same hell, I'm not surprised it's timing out. Howe...
