No Bake

I have another attempt at home baked karaoke ready to go: imported from TunePrompter, Intro and Outro added, but the 'Bake' button remains grayed out. Looked around the forum trying to figure it out. I saw something called 'Special>Edit'. I found 'Special' under 'Advanced', but there is no 'Edit' su...

Drive Noise

Ran out of room for song storage on my MacPro and backed my song files up to a Maxtor 160 gb drive. This way I would have plenty of room to add more songs in the future. Big problem: the Maxtor drive created noise through the PA amp. The same thing happened on 2 different amp heads. Has anyone else ...

Singer skip

Nearly every time I mark a singer 'here' during a show, even though the singer shows up in the rotation, when I actually start their song, the rotation skips right to the next song. To make kJams play a newly arrived singer, I must actually double-click on the song name in the rotation list (as oppo...

Bug Reporter

I tried to use the bug-reporter. Took me to a thing call 'Mantis' that asked me for user name and password— which then didn't work. So whatever Mantis is I wasn't able to use it.

I must be using the right user name and password because I was able to log in here...

Is it possible to control kJams with the little remote that came with my MacBook Pro?

Using A WorkBookPro

I'm successfully using a new MacWorkBook Pro and kJams Universal Binary. For ripping, I picked up a Plextor PX-708UF drive off eBay and am loading onto a spare Maxtor 250gb FireWire drive. Inspite of minor bugs, the ripping has gone well. On the other side, the software is working great! I love the ...

My WB has a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857. Is it known yet if this drive inconjunction with the duo Intel processors will support reading cd+G?

I'm glad that I inquired about drive compatibility.

Looks like I'm going to try a Plextor PX-708UF ext drive with a Belkin firewire cardbus pcmcia card (made for G3 Lombard PBs). Hopefully that will get the ripping done fairly efficiently.

Thanx for the help.

Rip & Rip Speed

Right now, any rip speed would be a lot faster than what I'm getting done presently. Thanks for the extra info. Is the Iomega 32886 newer than the drive list? Or has it already been tried? How do you determine if a drive can be used with cd+g? Is it all trial and error? Or is there something specifi...

I have acquired a Mac Lombard PB that is pre-FireWire. It does have SCSI and USB ports. I'm looking at an external Iomega CD-RW 52x24x52x DVD-ROM 16x USB, model 32886 to use with the Lombard laptop for ripping. My plan is to use this configuration to rip a fairly large CD+G collection onto Maxtor 25...

The Lombard drive is a MatshitaDVD-ROM SR-8171. It plays DVDs, so I hoped to read CD+G as well. If the drive works for kJams, shouldn't I just be able to put in the karaoke disk, click on a tune, and see the graphics? Without accessing freedb for song names? Any chance it could be a firmware issue?

I tried to use kJams with the Mac G3 Lombard. The CD drive shipped with this laptop does not support CD+G.

Rip w/ Lombard 400mhz

While KJams/Universal Binary version is in development, I'd like to begin ripping my library using an older MAC. For ripping purposes, will the current version of KJams work on a G3 Lombard 400mhz w/ 10.3+ OS? Regrds, BobFox

Mac Intel Rosetta

I picked up a new MacWorkBookPro intending to use if for kJams. Won't kJams work seemlessly via Rosetta? If not, is there an estimated release date for the UniversalBinary version? Meanwhile, can I copy my CD+Gs to a hard drive and import the contents of the drive to kJams' UniversalBinary version w...
