Starting over
Dave, I just retired and i want to get my library file limited to just actual discs that i ripped in and songs that i purchased from the download stores within k-jams. Is there a way to do this? If not, is there a way to just save the purchased songs and start a new library? I want to get my library...

Re: Slow Reveals
The folders typically have about 15 items in them. Basically what you would get if you took a karaoke disc and prepared .zip files for each song on the disk. So the entire folder structure would look something like this: Complex: External HD 2>Karaoke files>Sunfly>Most Wanted>#925>names of songs on ...

Re: Slow Reveals
That's my bad on using those terms interchangably. To me the Reveal seems like some kind of search, because it does not happen as quickly as I think it should, but yes, the steps are exactly as you list them. I first search for a song using either a set of words from the title or the artist name, th...

Re: Slow Reveals
Activity window shows nothing going on. Just ran another test. Results in seconds, songs 1 through 10: 3,6,15,18,27,14,17,13,11,17. Note that during the 27 second search, the Time Machine icon showed it as active, so that likely explains that. Also, I just upgraded to 8GB Ram, and I have not had any...

Slow Reveals
I have been copying some of my favorite karaokes to my iPad. But, of course, in order to do this I must first find them, so I have been using the Kjams Reveal in Finder feature to find the location of the file on my hard drive. I have noticed that in any given session, the first couple Reveals happe...

Re: Lyrics not sweeping correctly in Producer created songs
Dave, I tried the make the window larger thing, and the sweeping does appear to work when I make the window large enough to fill 1/4 of my laptop screen. Normally, I would have the mini window at about 1/16 of the laptop screen. I a, getting ready to go out to karaoke right now, so I won't be able t...

Re: Lyrics not sweeping correctly in Producer created songs
No change. I still get a blacking out of the line below the currently playing line. When the blacked out line becomes current, it becomes visible in blue, all at once, and then the line below that starts to black out.

Lyrics not sweeping correctly in Producer created songs
Since the last update, I have had issues with the songs I created in Producer. The titles and lyrics are now aligned starting at the very top of the screen and as the first line turns blue, the next line gets blacked out. This only happens in the Kjams mini screen. The video screen still works fine....

Re: Video is black
Ripping is the process of storing to the hard drive. See this:

Re: Video is black
Sounds to me like there are two possibilities. 1) You added a song that didn't have karaoke lyrics in the first place. Did you ever see this songfile play as a karaoke anywhere else? If you know it is a good karaoke, then: 2) If it was not already stored as a zip file when you added it to Kjams, you...

Re: re. add to library - chartbuster cdgs
Upon inserting a chartbuster cdg into my macbook, it plays and data (t, a, etc.) is listed, lyrics come up, etc. ) Actually, I meant "works" in terms of "lyrics comes up." If the drive doesn't read CD+G, he should never be able to see the lyrics come up. I was not referring to the meta data, which ...

Re: re. add to library - chartbuster cdgs
Just an observation - It seems really strange that the mac drive works sometimes but not all the time with a CD+G disc. On the other hand, if your Chartbuster discs are the 450 song SCDG discs, this makes more sense, as you actually using a DVD that contains pairs of mp3s and cdgs.

Re: Producer features?
This might not be as great as I thought it was, but it is still pretty good. What we are trying to accomplish in the end, obviously, is to wind up with a backing file, containing the original music with the vocals removed. Unless you have access to the original recorded tracks, you will never quite ...

Re: Producer features?
This is the basic split the tracks, and then invert the phase of one track approach. This is essentially what Audion does, or what the vocal remover circuits do. Stay tuned for an exciting new approach based on some files my son found while surfing the net!
