Re: Song too quiet

Sorry, been really lax lately. Since Audacity is an audio editor, it can't remux (remix) the audio back into the video file. Audacity can renormalise the audio in a MOV file, but it will only export the audio. You will have to use additional software to remux the audio and video into a single MOV fi...

Re: Song too quiet

You can do them all without conversion, and the process is lossless. Most software will preserve the metadata tags as well. Besides Audacity, you can also try: https://macdownload.informer.com/mp3gain-express/ https://macdownload.informer.com/mp3-normalizer/ https://macdownload.informer.com/sound-no...

Re: Song too quiet

You need to renormalize the audio for that one track. There are lots of software packages that do that, or you can try something like Audacity.

Re: Youka!

Bring out your dead!
Just want to point out that I think all legal issues are actually dealt with in any venue that pays their required BMI/ASCAP fees (which should be all of them, right?) since you are technically using the original artist's copyrights, that are encompassed in the BMI/ASCAP fee. :)

Re: Creating a CD-G

Hey all, I'm back after the end of the world, and seeing where I can help out!!! Howard, I think you are making a mistake fixating on CD+G. It's a dead format, with crappy resolution, poor editability, and little future use. You should really consider moving forward to resolution-independent file fo...

Youka!

I know, I know, no new features. But this is major! And straight forward. Youka (YouTube karaoke) is a cross-platform, open source app that allows you to search for any track for which a video exists on various platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) ad then it automatically downloads the video file, finds...

Re: SARS-CoV-2

Yes, like I said, you could use DaCast, which, relative to other video streaming services, is relatively cheap at $19/month for 300 hours. Facebook Live and Youtube can do it too, even Zoom, and take care of most of the multicast infrastructure, you'd just need a way to specify the video window as t...

SARS-CoV-2

Seriously, though, wouldn't it be great to have the ability to stream the video window over server, so as to facilitate some sort of online karaoke offering, such that the lyrics and music stream to the singer on a secure feed (linked to their Server creds) and the singer's video feed multicasts to ...

Re: Adding lyrics

BTW ( a year later) the easy way to solve the original problem is to open both the instrumental track and the original in an Audacity window, and then add or remove silence from the front of on of the tracks to get them is that they both start at exactly the same spot. (If they don't actually start ...

Preferential album sort order

And now in the "Yeah, right, one day" line of requests: In lieu of a previous request for smart song replacement (picking the "best" version based on a user-defined list) a nice work around would be to allow a preference for changing the alternate version list sort order from ascending alphabetical ...

Re: Removing voice from TunePrompter

Howard, You just need to count the seconds until the music starts in the version where the intro silence is longest, count the seconds until the music starts I the other track, then add the necessary silence to that track to make it sync with the version with lyrics. Then you can use the track with ...

Re: Adding lyrics

It's doable. I've done it. It's annoyingly frustrating, EXTREMELY time-consuming, and really not worth the time and effort, and will NOT be appreciated by anyone, but it DOES give one a sense of accomplishment to hand craft an apostrophe out to empty CDG fonts and shifting the next letter over a few...
