Re: File hash database field

I posted a bunch of stuff, including pseudo code, to the Trello in comments.
Doing the MP3 rather than the CDG is very straightforward since the offset data is stored in the ID3 header and footer.
And this will also have to address separate methods which may be necessary for other file types (WAV ...

Re: File hash database field

I'm just worried that hashing the CDG will break if someone uses Producer to fix, alter, personalize, etc., the file.

Re: File hash database field

You know better than me. I thought the ID3 portion was often at both the beginning and the end, requiring an offset.
I wrote more about this on the Trello (with code).
The problem I see with using audio fingerprints is if two karaoke versions are very similar. Especially versions with duets or ...

Re: File hash database field

The entire file. Using the BASH MD5sum command in terminal, it can generate a 128-bit hash from a 4MB MP3 data file in 0.01 seconds (similar speeds in Windows with "Get-FileHash in PowerShell) so it can process an entire full, half a terabyte library in like 15 minutes, plus file zipping and ...

File hash database field

If kJams could calculate the hash of one file from the unzipped Audio+G pair and have that value in the database record, it could be used in place of "Song ID". Or at least pair with it
The advantage is, when the tracks in a user's various playlists are stored, if it used this hash as its ID (or ...

Re: The ability to search for ", A" and ", The"

Not to zombify this thread, but kJams still doesn't move the indefinite article (a/an).

Re: Song too quiet

Sorry, been really lax lately.
Since Audacity is an audio editor, it can't remux (remix) the audio back into the video file. Audacity can renormalise the audio in a MOV file, but it will only export the audio. You will have to use additional software to remux the audio and video into a single MOV ...

Re: Song too quiet

You can do them all without conversion, and the process is lossless. Most software will preserve the metadata tags as well.
Besides Audacity, you can also try:

Re: Song too quiet

You need to renormalize the audio for that one track. There are lots of software packages that do that, or you can try something like Audacity.

Bring out your dead!
Just want to point out that I think all legal issues are actually dealt with in any venue that pays their required BMI/ASCAP fees (which should be all of them, right?) since you are technically using the original artist's copyrights, that are encompassed in the BMI/ASCAP fee. :)

Re: Creating a CD-G

Hey all, I'm back after the end of the world, and seeing where I can help out!!!
Howard, I think you are making a mistake fixating on CD+G. It's a dead format, with crappy resolution, poor editability, and little future use.
You should really consider moving forward to resolution-independent file ...

Youka!

I know, I know, no new features. But this is major!
And straight forward.
Youka (YouTube karaoke) is a cross-platform, open source app that allows you to search for any track for which a video exists on various platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) ad then it automatically downloads the video file, finds ...
