Re: USB or Firewire external hard drive

I have been using external drives for almost 6 years in my home system. I will never use a USB again. I've gone through 4 before I decided to go Firewire. It's still kicking and I have seen no problem yet. It's definately worth the money to avoid USB at all cost when it comes to external HD's. In my...

Re: Persistant songs

Your not wrong DeusExMachina. That's exactly how my shows go. I see them come in and they know I will call them in the order they got there. Since they know that their favorites are already saved for them they just tell me to pick a song from the list unless they already have a new song in mind.

Re: Pitch Control

I use pitch control all the time at my shows. Usually if the singer struggles with a song I will note it for next time and ask if he wants the pitch changed. Every single time the singer is relieved, excited, and impressed that the song was singable for them and didn't sound "different". They will c...

Re: Finding Songs...

Hey Scott. I did a little searching and did not find anything Karaoke that Rusted Root put out. Looks like they just haven't made the Karaoke version as of yet.

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer

I will agree with Dave on this one. I had the same questions when I started up. With so many companies I didn't want to have a mix of this and that. For my two cents... Soundchoice is primarily all I buy now. Although, updates on new music is a bit lagging so I get the Top Hits Monthly till the Soun...

Re: How to kill a successful show

YEP! I have had my fill of crappy bar owners not understanding that karaoke can't be just thrown together. It's a culture of people that have something in common that are meeting to enjoy singing. The one thing that will send me over the edge is when they tell me that the singers are not really part...

Re: Drive Noise

Had the same problem with my drives. Solved it by attaching a 2 prong adapter to the drive plug. Seems on some
systems the ground in the 3 prong plug creates a loop of noise when going back to the computer.

USB can be unreliable

I agree with Dave on the Firewire. USB was very unreliable for me. It seems like a great deal. I got the USB because I didn't want to have another thing to have to find a plug for... but, the USB (even the splitter power/data ones) crapped out on me eventually. I use them as a back-up only. Your mil...
