kJams Pro has all of the features of kJams Lite, plus additional features that allow you to put a professional show, whether you’re a KJ at a karaoke club or just an enthusiast who wants to put on a great show at home.

Here’s an overview of how kJams Pro works:

  • You first set up your venues, or the different locations where you host karaoke. For the professional, this could be any number of clubs, bars, restaurant. For the enthusiast, there might be only one venue (for example, your home).
  • Next, you set up a list of singers who are associated with each venue. For the professional KJ, there could be an entirely different set of singers for each venue, or there might be mostly unique sets of singers with a few people who frequent more than one venue. For the home enthusiast, a single venue with a single list of singers is often adequate.
  • Once you identify who the singers are, the next step is to create each singer’s playlists. There are three lists per singer: Favorites is the singer’s personal playlist comprising the songs the singer likes to perform. The Tonight list shows which of those songs the singer wants to perform tonight. The History list tracks which songs the singer has already performed. You can add songs for each singer, or singers can create their own lists by logging onto the kJams server.
  • On show night, you select the venue and then indicate which singers are “here.” Singers marked as Here are automatically added to the rotation.
  • You then use the Rotation list to manage the show. The Rotation shows the sequence of singers and the songs they are going to sing.

That’s it in a nutshell. But of course there’s a lot more to it. Read on.
