Bad ID3 Tags

Sometimes you will run across an MP3 audio file that has bad "ID3 Tags". "ID3 Tags" is a special area inside an MP3 file that contains meta-info about the song. If the song is still playable, then you can recover from this problem by simply re-encoding the song.

To re-encode the song (and keep it as an mp3 file) do these steps:

1. ensure you have the LAME MP3 Encoder installed and selected in your "Importing" prefs
2. select the song(s) you wish to re-encode
3. in the Menu Bar pick <<Advanced->Convert Selection to "LAME MP3: Best”>>
