Audio Recording performances
Audio Recording performances
Does anyone have guidance on how to record a live performance using KJams? My MacBook Pro has Garage Band, but I'm not very well versed in it. How difficult is that to use for this purpose? Thanks.
Re: Audio Recording performances
you basically have to capture the audio of kJams and send it to GarageBand (using SoundFlower), while using GarageBand to capture the microphone directly.
that way you have two tracks: one music and one vocal.
here's some info that might help:

Re: Audio Recording performances
This doesn't appear to allow me to record a live performance. Any ideas on that?

As commonly the case in threads like this, my reply is:
I wrote a script for that:

Alternately, you can use Audio Recorder app.

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the recorder app, haven't tried it yet. Thanks also for the script for it.

This is what I was looking for myself. It would be a big help if you we'd be able to record the audio and burn onto a disk for the singers making a fool of themselves and a way to promote new business.
Re: Audio Recording performances
Legally, kJams could record the audio of the singer's voice, but not distribute the music of the song they're singing. which is not what anybody actually wants.

Re: Audio Recording performances
Not sure you're legally liable for a record function if it just records whatever comes in off the line in, only if you separate out the music track. If you had a feature that facilitated the sale of that recording, however, they'd be all over you. Maybe. Eventually.

i just wouldn't risk it.
