Labeled singers

Is kJams missing a feature you need? Post it here! Note: if iTunes has it but kJams doesn't, it's a good bet kJams will have it, but that I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But go ahead and request it anyway!

Labeled singers

Post by Karanight »

I sometimes have singers who's name could be male or female, and I've noticed that there is a label column in the window where you mark singer in or out (don't know what the window is called) Would it be a big job to make that column work. It'd also make the rotation screen a bit more interesting

labels are for songs, they can't be applied to singers. currently there's no way to mark the gender of a singer. you could rename the singer to "Pat (M)" or "Pat (F)".

OK thanks. Not thought of that. I never think of the obvious way

I have found also that I frequently get singers of the same name anyway, so I now routinely ask for a last name or initial. I like the idea of the M or F too.

If you use server, my personal version of the New Singer client seen forces a last name. I can upload the code if you want.

Well, we could, sure. I'll have to remove some of the text in my dialogue boxes, to make things a bit more generic, but that is easy.
The only issue then is singers who add themselves over iOS. (You could either ignore that, or check server-side, and ask/insert a placeholder, maybe.)
