what programs are yall swiitching to, to play dj music? and how is that working out switching from kjams to another program? any hickups or lags?
how do i find out if my laptop can support the whole two screen thing? i have a mackbook pro 1.83 ghz intel core duo with mac osx 10.4.11 which i purchased 2 years ago.
will i need any sort of an audio card or video card?
how do i run the visual to more than one screen? i was thinking of running it to a flat screen monitor(lighter than a tv) and then also running it to tvs that are already at the place.
is this ram ok?

Your laptop DOES support multiple screens. You just need the $20 DVI->S-Video adapter (see the FAQ for links).
No you don't need an audio or video card, macs have them built in.
To get the video on more than one screen, you'll need a separate video mixer.
If the RAM manufacturer says it'll work with your mac, then it will. If you have a VERY large library (say 100,000 songs) you want 4 GIGS of ram.

The 1.83Ghz MBP uses the Core Duo processor.
It cannot use more than 2GB of RAM. The Core 2 Duo can use up to 3GB or RAM you can put in 4GB and it will see it but a motherboard limitation prevents all 4GB from being addressed.
Only the Santa Rosa based Core 2 Duo MBPs and MBs (release last half of 2007) can address 4GB of RAM
Crap. And here I've been telling everyone that will listen to get any used Intel Mac laptop and kJams Pro. This RAM thing is bad news for my reputation, which is dirt-low already!
You can actually run a very respectable show with 4000 songs, provided they're the "right" ones. I've been doing a lot of research along these lines. You can get decent sounding songs for much less than $1 per song.

you will be just fine with 2GB
don't get me wrong, you won't have any trouble there. it just gets real slow if, for example, you go to push your meta data on 100,000 songs.
it'll work, just be slow due to VM swapping
but if you're just running a show? you'll be fine, you won't notice anything.
