Re: Using Logic Pro to control a show
Completely possible, however need to point out a possibly killer for it -- delay..... by the time you run it all through the various software (if your laptop can handle it) there will be an inherent issue of delay as each piece of software passes through that will easily put a singer off timing when...

Re: Equipment Advice - Mixer with Single Knob Compression?
Mark -- never such a thing as too big a mixer for anything lol -- i use either my x32 or m32 every night, or even a Midas pro 1 or at a push pro 2 lol. i found the single compression knob on most mixers usually a waste of time -- best going external, or even better at the price point look at the beh...

Re: Which Karaoke Companies do you recomend or prefer
If i get a request and do a search and have multiple versions of a file for a singer, i always always always go straight for the Zoom version if i have it. They always have proper endings instead of fades, and real instruments used - not midi sound module versions. Lots of punch as they have been EQ...

Re: Equipment Advice - Active or Passive Speakers?
if you want plenty of power, then passive tens to allow you to drive the speakers that bit harder. Active is usually my speaker of choice for most venues. It gives me peace of mind. Passive -- if you have one amp for your PA and it goes down then your gig will be lost for the night unless you have a...

Re: Fixtures and fittings
One venue i set up a lot of my equipment in a few years back was about to go through a change of owner, luckily i got wind of the change and went down and loaded out all my gear that i could fit in my van. There was a few bits i just didn't have the room for. When i went back the following week the ...

Quick Fire Buttons
Sorry Dave, not sure if i asked for this before. How about some quick fire buttons that we can preload music into (Im thinking the likes of Happy Birthday, Congratulations etc). Its always a delay to search through my song list to get that sudden announcement song loaded ready to play -- you know wh...

Re: Key Changer plugin
The difference is night and day. i have been checking just in my studio at the moment to compare, but the new plugin is miles better than the existing one. Got a 5 hour gig on sunday so will comment back when i see how it sounds through the big PA.
Thanks

Many thanks for this help, it really is truly appreciated. Later today, I'm gonna set up my two MacBooks side by side with an older version ...

Re: Key Changer plugin
Last night, i came a cross a particular song that shows up this problem really really well -- i have dropped the 3 files into the same dropbox as yesterday. Alone by heart. the chorused piano section at the start is really rough with the AU plugin, but smooth as hell with the waves one. have a liste...

Re: Key Changer plugin
Guys -- just to clear up -- the samples i posted yesterday, were not done in KJams. i edited in sound forge to demonstrate exactly what I'm hearing in KJams. its got to be the plugin, as i get the exact same results in KJams as i did processing in sound forge

Re: Key Changer plugin
Interestingly (decided to do a quick check just now), there is an AU New Pitch Plugin available. It halved the level of the track, and also left a nasty flange noise through it. I have 4 tracks in a drop box for you to listen to Dave. track 1 -- original untouched mp3 track 2 -- down 3 semitones (30...
